The third stage is a Granular Activated Carbon (GAC) filter which is a final water polishing filter. The system features an automatic shut off valve so there is no need to cut off the incoming water supply when changing filters. Recommended times to change filters: carbon block at 6 months, reverse osmosis membrane at 2 to 5 years, activated carbon at 1 year.
